About Your Provider
licensed psychologist
Michael Morris, PsyD
I believe in your body’s natural ability to create and sustain health. My goal is to provide psychological care that benefits the entire person, not just to alleviate symptoms. As a result, my practice relies on a vision of integrated care. Medications, if prescribed by your physician, are coupled with evidence-based psychological interventions as well as mindfulness and meditation where indicated. Many patients consider reducing reliance on psychiatric medications through consultation with their physician once gains from therapy and lifestyle changes are fully realized.
Dr. Michael Morris has over 20 years of education, training, and experience in behavioral healthcare and has practiced as a Licensed Psychologist since 2009. He is regarded as an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based treatments as well as psychological assessment. Dr. Morris was born and raised in Texas and is pleased to be able to provide face-to-face services in North Texas as well as Telehealth services to those unable to receive services in-office.
After completing his Social Work training, Dr. Morris accepted a position with Turtle Creek Recovery Center in Dallas treating patients experiencing severe mental illness and addiction. Through this work, he recognized the benefit of quality psychological assessment and returned to graduate school to develop specialized assessment skills, ultimately earning his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. At the conclusion of his doctoral training, Dr. Morris was honored to complete a prestigious Predoctoral Internship with the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program in Wichita, KS, which has been continually accredited by the American Psychological Association for over 50 years. While on internship, Dr. Morris provided psychotherapy and psychological assessment services in a community mental health setting while completing specialized training in neuropsychological assessment at the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita. Upon returning to Dallas, Dr. Morris completed a postdoctoral residency in psychological assessment and psychotherapy in a private practice before launching his own practice in Frisco, TX, with an intense focus on providing high quality psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults, aimed at increasing the psychological health of North Texas individuals and families.
Dr. Morris is highly involved in professional associations and training. He is an active member of the Dallas Psychological Association and the Texas Psychological Association. He served as Secretary, Treasurer, and President of the Dallas Psychological Association, one of the largest and most respected regional psychological associations in the nation. He also served on the Texas Psychological Association Membership Committee. Dr. Morris has periodically accepted requests to supervise doctoral psychology students and postdoctoral fellows so that he might share his unique philosophy of delivering services focused on psychological health and well-being.
